Five of the best coaching tips

Good coaches establish trust and a rapport with the people being instructed. They should encourage with praise, build confidence with graduated experiences and give honest and constructive feedback.

1. Establish a rapport

Spend time establishing a rapport with the people you are coaching. Make sure they fully understand what is expected of them and explain the possible rewards for achievements.

2. Arrange for systematic coaching

Challenge them with graduated step by step experiences to build their confidence.

3. Feedback is the key to improvement

Give regular feedback and helpful constructive reports on progress.

          Explain methods and changes fully.

4. Reward effort and achievements

Praise good work and encourage people to improve.

Returns from learning should be more earnings.

5. New skills must be practised

People become frustrated if the new skills they have learned are not put into practice soon after coaching.
