Another Handful of Tips 38 – Time Saving
Five of the best tips to help you use your time more efficiently
We all have the same twenty-four hour day whether we be a President or a labourer.
Our time is our most valuable commodity so aim to make the best use of it.
1. Make time to plan your tasks
Think long and hard about your lifestyle and how to ration your time. Apportion time for family commitments, work and your leisure activities.
2. Set your goals
Break each goal down into small, achievable steps.
Decide to tackle one step at a time and concentrate on that step until completed. Then move on to the next step.
3. Set priorities
Make a ‘to-do’ list of tasks. Arrange them in order of importance and indicate when they should be completed.
Keep a schedule. Set your tasks for the following day before leaving work.
Do the things that are urgent first. Don’t waste time on unimportant activities.
Avoid procrastination. Get things done as soon as possible. Planning and perseverance are the keys to getting things done on time.
Review your progress periodically.
4.Learn to delegate activities
You are as only as good as your staff so recruit carefully. Make sure you train them to take responsibilities. Delegate your routine tasks and least important activities.
5. Reward yourself when you achieve your goals
This will encourage you to achieve more. The feeling of satisfaction will make you a happier person.
You will gain the reputation of a person who gets things done quickly and efficiently.
